Caltech µMRI Atlas of Mouse Development
an interactive 3D atlas

Seth Ruffins, Ph.D. & Russell Jacobs, Ph.D.
Mouse development involves the transformation of the spherical fertilized egg to the complex fully functional animal. The Caltech µMRI Atlas of Mouse Development maps the radical changes that underlie embryonic development.

The Atlas is constructed using microscopic Magnetic Resonance Imaging (µMRI) which provides three-dimensional images while preserving the normal geometry of the embryo. The Atlas site provides an interactive tool for navigating and examining normal mouse embryogenesis.

We are collaborating with the Medical Research Council's Edinburgh Mouse Atlas Project (EMAP). The two atlas projects encompass virtually all Theiler Stages from conception to birth.
